LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

What is it?

Leadership development is a customized process that enables individuals to reach their highest leadership potential. Leadership development helps individuals understand the critical dimensions of leadership and then build skills around those dimensions through a variety of proven developmental experiences.

How does it work?

HRCatalyst works with organizations to create a development program that will help their participants become stronger leaders. Several well-researched models of leadership are integrated to create a robust program with practical application. For individual leadership development, programs typically include a combination of assessment for development and coaching. On the group level, programs are created that take individuals out of their day-to-day activities so they can learn new concepts and craft a plan for changes they want to make ‘back home.’ Programs can include a development center, group skill-building sessions, experiential-based learning activities, peer coaching, and other cutting edge approaches to leadership development.

What are the steps for Leadership Development?

Leadership Development programming is very specific to the organization. However, the process typically includes the following:

  1. HRCatalyst works with stakeholders to understand program goals and context and to learn more about the participants.
  2. HRCatalyst develops a comprehensive schedule and agenda to address the specific learning objectives of the leadership development program. Program elements may include individual assessment and feedback, experiential-based learning activities, simulations, peer coaching, project-based learning activities, and more.
  3. HRCatalyst and the program sponsor review the program outline, including objectives, learning modules, timeline, and budget, and final revisions are made.
  4. The program is initiated and delivered as specified.
